Citizens Advice County Durham run a number of Energy Projects which aim to support, help and empower clients step out of fuel poverty.
The latest fuel poverty statistics have been published which show an increase in the number of households across the UK who are in fuel poverty. Rising from 10.3% in 2018 to 13.4% in 2019.
There are 3 main factors which drive fuel poverty:
- The energy efficiency of a property
- Household income
- High fuel costs
Through in depth energy assessments, up to date benefit checks and energy efficiency advice Citizens Advice trained advisors can support clients to support them with their energy needs.
They have continued to partner with Durham Christian Partnership and the fuel foundation to continue providing emergency fuel vouchers for prepayment customers to help prevent disconnection.
Please see the attached posters which outlines the support they can offer to help clients step out of the situations they may find themselves in.
